David Carlisle - Chairman of the Board

With more than two decades of motor vehicle industry experience spanning three continents and over 30 companies, David Carlisle provides astute leadership to the Carlisle & Company team as chairman of the board. The scope of his expertise is extensive in the domestic, import and US automotive parts aftermarket. It includes analyzing strategic issues in service parts, service, organizational analysis, sales and marketing, and vehicle distribution.

Before launching CFGW and Carlisle & Company, David was a vice president at Charles River Associates. He also served as partner at the former Temple, Barker & Sloane (now Mercer Management Consulting) and director in information systems at Colgate-Palmolive.

David received a B.A. from the State University of New York at Oswego. He also holds an MS in Operations Research and Statistics and an MS in Urban and Environmental Planning from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Morene Bodner - Founding Partner, Chief Financial Officer

A Carlisle & Company founding partner and chief financial officer, Morene Bodner contributes more than two decades of experience in management consulting, finance and accounting.

Prior to launching Carlisle & Company, Morene was director of corporate systems at Colgate-Palmolive. She joined Colgate-Palmolive after a management consulting position at Price Waterhouse, where she obtained her CPA, and a public accounting role at Arthur Andersen.

Morene earned an MBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Buffalo and a BA from Syracuse University.

Harry Hollenberg - Founding Partner

To Carlisle & Company clients, Harry Hollenberg brings a wealth of management consulting experience in supply chain management and logistics. He draws on a background working with global leaders in the motor vehicle, retail distribution, and high-tech and transportation industries to develop effective, creative solutions for clients.

At Carlisle & Company, Harry’s role managing and executing strategic and tactical initiatives for aftermarket automotive suppliers and domestic and import automotive OEMs produces tremendous value for clients. One supply chain redesign effort led by Harry for a multi-billion dollar aftermarket automotive parts supplier identified over $30 million in annual savings, and cut customer replenishment cycle times by over 20%.

Harry is responsible for the management and execution of all Carlisle & Company survey products for automotive, and construction and agricultural equipment clients. He also manages strategy assessments and the development of technology and business process improvements.

Prior to joining Carlisle & Company, Harry was a senior associate with Mercer Management Consulting and an industrial engineer with Zayre Corporation. He holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University and an MBA from the Sloan School of Management at MIT.

Tom Parish - Founding Partner

Tom Parish has been consulting to the automotive and related industries since 1985. To Carlisle & Company clients, he brings a background working with automotive OEMs, suppliers, industry organizations and regulatory agencies, with a focus on product and retail strategy development, and technology and supply chain management.

A Carlisle & Company founding partner, Tom provides on-going strategy assistance to the US sales and marketing organization of a leading Japanese manufacturer. In this role, he directs an annual, in-depth situation assessment to identify areas for improvement. One aspect of the assessment involves developing initiatives to more closely match sales objectives to the overall corporate strategy. These initiatives ultimately drive associate training requirements, implemented through a Carlisle & Company-managed "Corporate University."

Before joining Carlisle & Company, Tom was a senior manager with the global automotive practice of Arthur D. Little. He holds two degrees in economics, including an MS from the London School of Economics and a BA from Bucknell University.

Paul Gurizzian - Managing Partner

Paul Gurizzian joined Carlisle & Company in 2001 to open the Southfield, MI office. As managing partner, he is responsible for the day-to-day management of the firm, with a focus on business development and project execution for service-parts operations at the Detroit Three OEMs and Commercial Truck OEMs. His involvement with nearly every Carlisle & Company client in North America and Europe spans conference support, surveys and consulting.

Paul’s primary areas of expertise include revenue management, marketing effectiveness and large scale change management. He is also an expert in cost management and shareholder value management. Paul has held financial executive positions in a number of industries including motor vehicle, independent automotive aftermarket, aerospace and energy.

Prior to joining Carlisle & Company, Paul was an assistant controller at DTE Energy. He was director of finance at Honeywell’s European Aftersales Bendix brake business in Paris. At Honeywell, Paul also held the position of director of business management for the firm’s aerospace turbine engine and replacement parts business. He spent seven years at Chrysler, including the Mopar Parts Division, and launched his career at General Motors in purchasing and logistics.
Paul holds a BS in Industrial Administration from the General Motors Institute (now Kettering University) and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Stephan Brackertz - Partner

Stephan Brackertz leads the firm’s European business activities as the Head of Carlisle GmbH (Carlisle & Company’s office in Frankfurt, Germany). Stephan began his career in the motor vehicle industry in 1987. His background includes consulting, as well as positions at a large European auto manufacturer.

At Carlisle, Stephan has focused on vehicle and aftersales initiatives. His contributions span strategies for sales and marketing, parts pricing, dealer processes, aftersales finance, supply chain network redesign, warehousing, market research and training.

Stephan is the local manager of the firm’s annual European Aftersales Conference. With his extensive econometrics and statistics background, he plays a major role building the firm’s market research portfolio.

Stephan is a Stanford Business School MBA and holds a Management Science degree from University of California – San Diego. He has traveled the world extensively and speaks 9 languages.

Robert Desel - Partner

Robert Desel brings extensive parts and aftermarket operational and consulting experience to Carlisle & Co. clients. He has worked with virtually every motor company on opportunities ranging from revenue and margin optimization, to leveraging supply chain and network design for commercial as well as operational success, to new channel and market development.

Robert is responsible for building and managing relationships with west coast based automotive manufacturers as well as Nissan and Subaru. In addition he focused on digital and internet strategy to build parts sales and customer retention across the motor-vehicle sector as well as Carlisle’s business development activities.

Robert was one of the first employees at Carlisle and participated in its founding in 1993 and growth through 2006. Most recently he rejoined Carlisle after a four year position with Terex Corporation where he was responsible for the global aftermarket for the construction segment for 2 years and responsible for the construction segment’s operations in North America, South America, India and China for two years. Robert also worked at Saab Cars USA as well as Salomon Brothers.

He holds a BS in Finance from Fairfield University.

Gene Metheny - Partner

Gene is a senior board partner at Carlisle & Company. During his career, Gene has worked with automotive OEMs, tier-one suppliers and automotive aftermarket parts manufacturers on all aspects of the parts business. The scope of his experience is comprehensive and includes sales, marketing, dealer operations, supply chain and inventory management, warehouse operations, supplier management, retail inventory management, dealer to dealer ordering and new business ventures.

Prior to joining Carlisle & Company, Gene was a senior manager at CGE&Y (formerly Ernst & Young). Here, he led the development of the firm’s service parts practice for the automotive industry, as well as multi-site ERP implementations and post-ERP implementation process and systems improvements. Other leadership initiatives at CGE&Y include service parts technology implementations for forecasting, inventory management, and supply chain event management systems.

Gene’s background also includes positions at General Electric and Lockheed Martin in information systems, materials management, service operations, engineering development, manufacturing and procurement.

Gene holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri at Rolla and an MS in Business Administration from Northeastern University in Boston.

Thomas Neumann - Partner

Thomas Neumann joined Carlisle & Company in 2002. His consulting experience, in both the North America and Europe, covers a wide range of topics in the areas of service and parts, from dealer performance assessment to parts pricing and distribution strategies.

Currently, he is responsible for the management of Carlisle’s survey portfolio for the automotive and heavy equipment industries in Europe. In addition, Thomas is also actively involved in the preparation and execution of EAC, Carlisle’s European Aftermarket Conference, where he presents to senior executives of the European service parts operations of vehicle manufacturers.

Prior to joining Carlisle & Company, Thomas held an Associate position with Booz Allen Hamilton. During his tenure, he worked with various European and US automotive clients on new model launches, dealer network restructuring and used vehicle remarketing.

A German national, Thomas holds an MBA from the University of Texas/ Austin and a Master Degree in Slavic Studies from Johannes-Gutenberg-University in Mainz/Germany.

Sarah Outslay - Partner

Sarah Outslay joined Carlisle & Company in 2005. During her time at Carlisle, she has worked on projects with a wide variety of Auto and Heavy Equipment manufacturers, both on the parts side of the business as well as vehicle sales & marketing. Her particular areas of expertise include sales & marketing strategy, field force training, accessories strategy and program management, dealer operations, supply chain and inventory management, and warehouse operations.

Sarah has worked with a variety of clients in North America, Europe, and Asia. She is primarily responsible for working with a leading Asian importer in the US on their annual field Sales and Parts & Service training, as well as strategic planning. She is also involved in developing new benchmarking initiatives. Most recently, she led the launch of a parts benchmarking conference in China, covering East Asia parts and supply chain operations.

Prior to joining Carlisle & Company, Sarah was a Research Engineer at T/J Technologies (now A123 Systems). During this time, her focus was research & development of novel materials for use in hybrid electric vehicle batteries and other applications. Her previous experience also includes work in the Materials Engineering Division at Toyota.

Sarah holds a BSE in Materials Science & Engineering, as well as BS in Biological Anthropology, both from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor.

Michael Sachs - Partner

Michael Sachs joined Carlisle & Company in 1996. To Carlisle & Company clients, he offers extensive consulting experience in motor vehicle service-parts strategies. In addition to industry benchmarking, Michael’s areas of expertise include network design, inventory management, lean operations, and warehouse storage and process redesign.

Michael has spent over ten years in industry designing, implementing, and managing distribution center operations. His background also includes positions in retail distribution, catalog order fulfillment, service-parts distribution and manufacturing.

At Carlisle & Company, Michael works with automotive, heavy equipment and power sports clients on complex initiatives that consistently achieve exceptional results. He manages the firm’s global conferences delivering supply chain performance benchmark data and analyses, facilitated roundtables and case studies to provide insights into best-in-class industry processes.

Prior to joining Carlisle & Company, Michael held positions at SMC Pneumatics, Henry Schein, Inc. and Zayre Department Stores where he gained experience ranging from engineering and systems implementation to distribution center operations management.

Michael has a BS in Industrial Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology and an MBA from Indiana University.

Sanjay Seth - Partner

Sanjay Seth joined Carlisle & Company in 2002 with over 14 years of automotive and management consulting experience in North America and Europe. Sanjay’s background includes a broad array of service parts initiatives. These include identifying and implementing revenue and margin enhancement strategies, and providing executive leadership to program implementation teams.

At Carlisle & Company, Sanjay focuses on projects related to revenue growth strategies, pricing management, market sizing and share assessment, service marketing and retention, inventory management and organizational benchmarking.

Prior to joining Carlisle, Sanjay was a corporate strategy and operations consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers. His background also includes engineering experience at Ford Motor Company in computer aided analysis, product design and powertrain manufacturing.

Sanjay holds an MBA in Strategy & Finance from Ross School of Business (Michigan), MS in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University and BS in Mechanical Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, India.
